This adorned yet another hit piece on Chevy Chase. I don’t know why Chevy garners such hatred. He has anger issues, yes. He comes across as petty, sure. But Chevy doesn’t suffer fools. And he makes it known.

When MR. MIKE came out, Chevy was the first to congratulate me. I answered the phone. “Hello?” The voice on the other end said “You’re a great writer.” It was Chevy. How he got my number I have no idea, but there he was, and we talked for three hours.

So yeah. I’m soft on Chevy. But look at it from my angle. He blew up when I was in high school. Can you imagine some Indiana kid becoming friends with Chevy Chase? I have relatives who still don’t believe it.

I’ll always love Chevy. He’s been good to me. You wanna fight about Chevy? You gotta go through me.
