Criminal Projection
The very idea of charging Raúl Castro with human rights violations transcends any casual definition of satire. The facts are plentiful and obvious, yet corporate media treats this Epstein dodge as newsworthy. Well, they are performing their societal function.
The Cuban Revolution of 1959 rocked not only the hemisphere, but the world. In many respects, it had a more profound effect than the American revolution itself. The owners of the U.S. certainly thought so, which was why they terrorized revolutionary Cuba from the beginning. Cuba’s example was dangerous to them, and they were willing to wage nuclear war to emphasize this.
Cuba’s crime was to throw the Mafia out of Havana, and provide the poor with food and medical care. Was it a clean process? How could it be? Imagine rearranging society while in the crosshairs of the most powerful country on Earth devoted to your destruction. Not an ACLU atmosphere.
For all I know, Trump may nuke Cuba. He’s that fucking crazy. But I wonder if right wing Miami Cubans would support that, seeing how they’d be wiped out as well. Some may accept the cost. How down with the cause are you?
